Wishing I knew how to break through
To you so you can see
Past the wealth and the disparity
Of being comfortable
Yesterday a question was asked of them
The beautiful women of Thailand
In the big cities and how it is they sell
There was cynicism in a tone
A subtle mockery of prostitution
One word...poverty
Unlike here, poverty will drive someone to
Desperation
We think we are above and beyond
Because of piety
Without knowing the price of beauty
And the responsibility to a village
They pay a price with their bodies
Paid most often by the wealth of the West
Already married men, who choose unfaithfulness
Taking back HIV/AIDS to villages when they are betrothed
The enemy laughs at them and the mockery of their bodies
Unfortunately twisting their beauty
Making whores of virgins
Selling the priceless for a price
He laughs...
But you will sit comfortably
In front of a screen
So you can have no attachments
Just like the news you will tune this out
You will forget them
And if you know Him, maybe even His heart for them
But this is for them and the recognition that He has not forgotten
Nor will He ever...
