Rather than leaving you hanging and wondering what the song "You Can Close Your Eyes" are about, I thought I would post the lyrics here to go with my last post. William Fitzsimmons (who I'm a huge fan of) and Brooke Fraser did a spectacular cover of the song not too long ago that I would wager is just as good if not better than the original as sung by James Taylor. Check it out on YouTube if you care to hear what I'm referencing.
As for personal matters, I've noticed over the years that the music we often listen to reflects what's going on inside of us. So in not so many words, this song and others like it sum up how I've been feeling for about a month. I can't compare what I've been feeling to anything I've ever experienced before, so I find it hard to put everything into words and thus remain somewhat quiet. And considering how I know some people use this blog as a means of keeping tabs on me (in an unhealthy way), I choose to remain fairly quiet. Maybe I'll start a different blog soon.
Also, Fitzsimmons' new album "The Sparrow and the Crow" have also been in my ears since last Thursday. Call it honesty, call it therapy, call it whatever. It is what it is...
"You Can Close Your Eyes"
Well the sun is surely sinking down
But the moon is slowly rising
So this old world must still be spinning round
And I still love you
(chorus)
So close your eyes
You can close your eyes, its all right
I dont know no love songs
And I cant sing the blues anymore
But I can sing this song
And you can sing this song
When Im gone
It wont be long before another day
We gonna have a good time
And no ones gonna take that time away
You can stay as long as you like
- chorus -
