Hands are moving in circles
Woken early too often
Wondering and waiting
Too much was said
To excuse reality for dreams
Society and fast paced life
Screams to not to
Swaying up and down the coast
Killing time sweetly with occupancy
Learning to calm the seas with memories
And wait patiently
Strength never before experienced
To wade and wait through time
And let Him continue on with the script
A man will never lie to his best friend of love
And a woman will wait forever for that which is true...

Poem: East Coast
Stretched along the east coast
From New York to North Carolina
Flickering with silver and gold
A breeze has blown since I was 17
Scattering pieces
Of letters, poems, late night kisses
Exploration, laughter
And tears
Mysteries and concrete emotions have blown through life
Scattering everything leaving sense of nothing
I remember jumping in a pool fully clothed when we first met
I remember your lines of poetry on that day
From New York to North Carolina
Flickering with silver and gold
A breeze has blown since I was 17
Scattering pieces
Of letters, poems, late night kisses
Exploration, laughter
And tears
Mysteries and concrete emotions have blown through life
Scattering everything leaving sense of nothing
I remember jumping in a pool fully clothed when we first met
I remember your lines of poetry on that day

Not Religious, Just True
I was just journaling for a little while and the following post is reflective of that time...
This current life is depressing. The current church (mainstream Christianity, NOT Jesus) is a sham with the majority of people comfortable on the surface or caught-up in minor debates that don't include sanctification and freedom, but things that enable a finger to be pointed at others for their wrongs.
Presently, there are no real solutions for the hurting world past accepting Jesus into one's life - which is invaluable, but there is more that is needed along with that inward choice. By no means are we saved by works; but if we love God, why aren't we looking past our own agendas and selfcenteredness? It's a shame how we're a body that can't love anyone but ourselves or those who somehow benefit ourselves. Jesus loved radically meeting all the emotional, spiritual, and physical needs of those He came in contact with. Those of us who have been walking with Him for years should be ashamed for the lack of fruit we yield. We should be ashamed for the lack of real love we give to Him and to others. Yes, we need His help, but we show lack of discipline and obedience in abiding in His help.
He leads us to the waters and we marvel at their beauty, but our mouths are dry and our bodies dehydrated. We don't know how to drink and we don't know how to walk. And it is pride that keeps us from admitting the truth to ourselves and to Him. And it is fear that keeps us from telling others.
We feel "free" without true accountability forgetting that the life He lived was ultimate freedom and have come to accept a mere shadow of truth. We allow ourselves to be deceived and ensnared...

"You Can Close Your Eyes" Part II
Rather than leaving you hanging and wondering what the song "You Can Close Your Eyes" are about, I thought I would post the lyrics here to go with my last post. William Fitzsimmons (who I'm a huge fan of) and Brooke Fraser did a spectacular cover of the song not too long ago that I would wager is just as good if not better than the original as sung by James Taylor. Check it out on YouTube if you care to hear what I'm referencing.
As for personal matters, I've noticed over the years that the music we often listen to reflects what's going on inside of us. So in not so many words, this song and others like it sum up how I've been feeling for about a month. I can't compare what I've been feeling to anything I've ever experienced before, so I find it hard to put everything into words and thus remain somewhat quiet. And considering how I know some people use this blog as a means of keeping tabs on me (in an unhealthy way), I choose to remain fairly quiet. Maybe I'll start a different blog soon.
Also, Fitzsimmons' new album "The Sparrow and the Crow" have also been in my ears since last Thursday. Call it honesty, call it therapy, call it whatever. It is what it is...
"You Can Close Your Eyes"
Well the sun is surely sinking down
But the moon is slowly rising
So this old world must still be spinning round
And I still love you
(chorus)
So close your eyes
You can close your eyes, its all right
I dont know no love songs
And I cant sing the blues anymore
But I can sing this song
And you can sing this song
When Im gone
It wont be long before another day
We gonna have a good time
And no ones gonna take that time away
You can stay as long as you like
- chorus -
