Poem: If Only

If you could see what I see
All your fears would fall to the floor and be no more
How He thought of the Pacific when He created you
With eyes only matched by the beauty of seas
And a crimson of old
Touched with the vibrancy of life in your mouth and cheeks
He thought of the earth too
While mixing chocolate brown with strands of gold

If only you could see what I see
All your fears would fall to the floor and be no more
You wouldn’t ask
Is he handsomer than me?
After sitting at an intriguing conversation
You wouldn’t say
I think you’re smarter than me
After hearing the life stories I share

If only you could see what I see
All your fears would fall to the floor and be no more
And you would know the radiance of your life
Understand the passion of your own heart
Not be frustrated with complexity and brilliance of your own mind
And how your name was not by chance
He thought of the beauty and complexity of creation when He formed you
Oh man called “life,” if only…
