I enjoy being able to listen & repeat on my long commute to work in the mornings. The content seems to be a little out of order but it all makes sense in the end. It also helps me to see the words and helps with my pronunciation. Great purchase.
I have Rosetta Stone is which great but this one is helping me with actual conversations. The book is also helpful.
I truly enjoyed listening to this set. I just started disk 1 but I already like it very much. I can see I am going to learn a lot. The English speaking lady is well spoken, she has a very nice and relaxed way about her. She explains the words well and then the French speaking man repeats them twice slowly. He is easy to understand and seems to enjoy translating words. They don't sound stupid or phoney. They don't rush through any of the lessons and the phrases they go over seem to actually be useful. This CD set got me excited about learning French and trying out what I learned on everyone at work. The CD doesn't go into details of the French language or why certain words are translated the way they are, it simply gives you a good range of phrases, questions, commonly used words, and topics to help you learn. I don't know if this is going to do me any good in France, but I can't wait to see. I'll probably get laughed at, but hey...I'll be in FRANCE!
So far has been useful for learning to speak Frenc. Would be better if the booklet that comes with th CDs also showed the pronunciation of the words and phrases that are reviewed.
For the beginner, it was hard to follow without the book. Therefore, listening to in the car was not optimal. I downloaded a free program to my phone which worked much better as it was more like flash cards....
French has always been difficult for me since I was in school too many years ago. French for Dummies has me remembering and speaking some communication French already.
straight forward - easy to understand - quite affordable - personally recommend.
A step by step intro to simple French (and the difficult pronunciation). They explain, then speak a few lines with pauses in between so you can repeat it. Not sure how it compares to other teaching systems but this set was a bargain.
