I bought this book for my granddaughter, she loves it and would like to have all the Gaia books.I shall look for more.

Extremely well written for an audience of 5th-9th grade students. In the first part of the book, the author clarifies what we know about climate change while also addressing common myths and misunderstandings. In the second part of the book, Gaia warriors are revealed--that is people who are striving to save the planet in noteworthy ways are being revealed. At the same time, these ideas are a call to action for the reader and many are within our reach of doing. These ideas are not the "same old" either. "Dressing for the climate," a two-page spread on one designer who is up-cycling used clothes for her fashion line is one example of the innovation discussed in the book. The layout and design of this book is fabulously appealing and engaging - with quotes, photos, diagrams, illustrations, etc. and a decent size print which aids the reader when the author describes complex concepts early on in the book. Across the book, you, the reader, meet lots and lots of young people, scientists, and activists and when you are done with book, you feel like you've met an entire world-wide community and hopefully, you're inspired. This would be a great book to read in small groups in the middle school science classroom or to adopt as a "book in common" at a middle school.

This book is absolutely stunning. It comes with a book cover, which is seen in the main photo as well as the gallery, that ends with a diagonally-slanted flap which reveals the actual cover of the book (the white background, gold letters). The book feels sturdy and durable while still retaining a sense of high quality. It is obvious that this book was meticulously crafted. From the feel of the pages to it's textured cover, this book represents everything Louis Vuitton stands for. The book contains text about Louis Vuitton's life and the progression of the company from a small boutique to the internationally-acclaimed fashion house it is today. The Louis Vuitton portion of the book also includes photos of early Louis Vuitton projects and commentary on the fashion at that time. The Marc Jacobs section of the book, however, elaborates on the era of experimentation on products brought on by Jacob's direction, rather than focusing to much on the company itself. Overall, this book is incredible and the photos are extremely glamourous. This book is definitely a "must buy" for any fashion lover, like myself, or anybody who appreciates photography. One thing I will say, though, is that the preview for this book is somewhat misleading, as there are much more photographs in the book than presented in the preview.

This is a nicely produced book focusing on the contributions of both Louis Vuitton and Marc Jacobs to the world of fashion.The book is divided into two sections, the first is devoted to the history of Louis Vuitton and its rise as a powerful label. The text is enhanced by several clear b&w photographs,rare archival materials, and some period advertisements.The second section focuses on the reign of Marc Jacobs, his creations and artistic collaborations. This section is mostly pictorial. The fashion shoots are clear, large and colorful, and they present a selection of Jacobs' creations and campaigns since he took the helm at Louis Vuitton.The book ends with a small section reproducing a selection of small photos highlighting the label's recent ad campaigns and fashion shows.The overall quality of the book is beautiful and it is a recommended addition to any fashion collection.

The picture is slightly deceiving as far as the color goes. The cover is gold, but more of a bronze compared to the picture.

Book clearly outlines history and evolution of Louis Vuitton company, products and family organization. It revealed facts I was not aware of such as how a fourteen year old young man, who could not read or write, invented a way to transport clothes for travelers in the 1800's and became a global business success. A remarkable story. The photos offer a view of a number of trunks and the quality of craftsmanship that led to their fame. The images demonstrate how the travel items were coded in a manner to signal to porters as to which traveler's bags to spot and carry. The coded images also created one of the most famous logos in the world. It makes a global enterprise seem more personal and allows one, surprisingly, to see that the snooty luxury trade stereotype does not always fit. A good discovery and read.

Bought it for a class and actually had to read it. Doesn't go into as much detail as I think it should. Just skims the surface and points out major issues and things you should be doing to brand a business or person. Has several pages with lists of ideas (for example; touchpoints) Good for a beginner/class but for someone really wanting to get into the deep end of branding I would look for something else. Layout is simple and easy to understand.

This book is incredibly comprehensive and visually engaging. I think it's a "must" for both students and professionals. An incredible tool for the aspiring brand professional, small business or really any person or entity working to create a plan around branding and logo identity.

This is a book of whats but not hows or more importantly, whys. It's a glorified glossary design book with quotes.I always try to learn others' processes to better my understanding of approaches, thinking, etc., and I had apprehensions about this book despite the positive reviews.This is probably the first book ever purchased I wanted to return within 5 minutes of reading. It's also the first book I've had to leave a negative/any review.There's no substance to the chapters, just lists of key terms relevant to the cycle of the brand strategy process. The main content of the book is material pulled from outside sources rather the author, and quotes to supplement the dictionary-esque copy in the book.For example, in "Process: conducting research" - "Clarify vision, strategies, goals, and values" — how? What's the actual process to clarify strategy?For those looking to add a resource about brand strategy, especially those new to the subject, you'll be better off using Google than this book.

I’m a design student so I do value a beautifully designed book, which this is. However, I found it lacking in detailed information and felt like I wasn’t learning much from it so I returned it after a few days.

This book is amazing, though it's very more geard to a rebranding of large corporations not how to open a small mom and pop store are product.Think it's a bit out dated. Can't wait for the next edition.

Easily one of the most holistic coverages on the concept of "Branding". This is a MUST for students and professionals at any state in the career. This is a fantastic reference, and should be mandatory reading for anyone working in a Branding/Marketing/Advertising capacity.

Bought this book to help with a rebrand project. Strongly suggest this purchase as it is a great reference book that can be applied in many situations.
