Oh I love it! The journal is very well-made & have scene pictures of Outlander at the front & back covers. I especially love the wax seal & stationery! I love it!!!! Will be buying more stationery from this seller!

This set is solid. The paper and envelopes are substantial enough you can write on both sides with a fountain pen, and it does not bleed through. This is the first paper I've run across that can do that. The design of the paper is wonderfully period correct. The envelopes won't fall apart in the mail, and I enjoy putting the wax seal on the back. I'm pretty sure that doesn't thrill the Postal Service, but it's my letter, and paid the postage to send it. I actually use the box it all comes in as a lap desk in my recliner.So, Outlander fans, or lovers of old-school things, this set is worth every penny.

Totally worth it!!!Not only paper for letters (and envelopes), but a beautiful embossed journal, sealing wax and stamp, and an incredible desk weight.

Never have I ever been more pleased!!! A true fan of outlander and fan of all things scotland will love this!!!

I bought this for my cousin and it was so gorgeous that I wanted to keep it, so I will have to order one for myself. We love to hand write letters and we love "Outlander," so this is perfect,

Everything was lovely. Especially the note book. Although I felt the paper weight could have been a bit more elegant looking, very light and basic looking. Apart from that I loved the set.

I am completely new to franchising and I was looking for a book which could introduce me to it and help me decide if this is the path I want to pursue at this point in my life. I read another book about franchising (based on Amazon's top ratings) but found it to be rather dull and not very insightful. This book covers the topic from soup to nuts (the nuts being up until you actually purchase a franchise). I found the book very entertaining and easy to read to the point that I finished it in a few days (not easy for me since I am a slow reader).The author takes a very practical approach to lowering your risk when finding and purchasing a franchise. He doesn't push franchising on you and even has a test to see if you are a right fit for franchising. The book also answered most of my questions like: Should I use a franchise consultant and what do they do in the first place? How much can I afford to start a franchise? Is financing available? What is the process of purchasing a franchise? What is the FDD and what parts are important? What should I ask when I talk to other franchisees? and more.I would have liked the author to go more into if a person should create a LLC, S-Corporation, etc. There was only a paragraph on that and I'd like to know more about the plusses and minuses of each and when to create one. Other than that, the book was fantastic. Buy this one first before any others!

The authors have written an excellent description of Megalodon, the giant shark of about 30 million years ago whom some think may still exist. Describing the species in some detail, especially its skeleton and tooth structure, the narrative truly describes an eating machine, invincible to all in the sea except another Megalodon. They authors are wrong on one point however, the Megalodon is not the largest sea predator ever. That honor belongs to Liepleurodon, a late Jurassic Plesiosaur that had thirteen foot jaws and weighed up to 150 tons. It could have snacked upon Megalodon. In fact, it did hunt sharks.

This is an excellent book for anyone who loves sharks, especially Megalodon.That person who said that Liopleuridon could snack on him please, Megalodon would have put up the best fight.And when he said that liopleuridons jaws were 13 feet long well their not, their only 10 feet long.Well anyways this is an excellent book, and once you read it you will find out who was the top predator!!!

I bought this as a gift and was very pleased with it. Beautiful images with a different recipe every month. The picture and recipe takes up most of the calendar area so it is not a calendar you can really write on the days (as they are pretty small) but it is fun for bakers that just want a reference calendar to view when days fall in the month. The recipes use volume measurements (cups, tsp, tbsp, etc) rather than the traditional weight measurements for Great British Baking Show recipes so it is good for your amateur baker that has yet to commit to buying a scale.

The pictures are great, but the calendar is teeny. This is more of a cookbook made into a calendar. I'll be honest, I don't know where I would want the recipes, but I don't want to sacrifice the actual calendar to the degree it is in this one. Still, a very nice calendar overall!

It is a nice quality product, but because of the recipe size, the calendar portion is tiny. Also, the items chosen for the photos (with one or two exceptions) are not terribly appetizing or luscious looking.

The calendar part has been reduced to 10% of the two pages making it impossible to add any personalized notes to any of the individual dates. More of a 12 page cookbook than a calendar

Pictures are beautiful and full recipes given. Actually calendar you could barely see and unable to mark anything on.

I love the little recipes that come with every month. The pictures are beautiful and it motives me to bake more things. A vast majority of the cakes I've never heard of which is a nice change.

Decieving. We still.like it, but the actual calender is 6x6 or so, you can't really see it well.

Although the pictures are lovely and recipes tempting, the size allotted for the monthly calendar itself is very small. Far to small to make notations of appointments or important information.

About the Author

Mickey Mestel is an unusual product of midwestern America. Growing up in Colorado during the 60’s and 70’s, he always felt there was something more, something else out there, but was never quite able to pinpoint just exactly what that something was. A rebellious youth turned in desperation to a higher education, and after graduating from Kent State University, he forsook the snow and cold of the midwest for the milder gentler clime of northern California. That and the lure of Silicon Valley to fuel the passion for computers he developed while at university. Mickey prospered in computers, but still felt there was something missing, something undefined, some void that yearned to be examined and hopefully filled. His first full-time employer out of university made the unbeknownst-to-them mistake of sending him overseas for work, and the seed was planted—the proverbial brick had hit him in the face: there was a whole world out there to discover, and damned if it didn’t need discovering! Just short of his 30th birthday, he quit his job, sold everything he owned, and traveled the world for 4 years. Coming back from something so extreme, reentering normal life was a task, but when it was done two things were needed: a re-entry into the world of computers, and continual travel. He went on to become among the top of the database computing industry at the time, and eventually founded a computer company with two friends during the dot com era that survived the crash by being purchased by a larger company. From there, Mickey continues to travel, looking deep into the cultures he becomes, to whatever small degree, a part of as he travels to these remote destinations. Having been through the Suguta Valley in northern Kenya four times now, he is one of a handful of people on the planet who have been there more than once, let alone been there at all. Being able to look as an outsider has given him the ability to look at his own culture as an outsider as well, with the thankful understanding that just because he is from there, doesn’t in any way make it better than any other, simply different.

Driven to the edge of the modern world by a desire to really step outside of the culture he was raised in, Mestel takes the time to reflect deeply what he's faced with on a daily basis, how it compares with the culture he's trying to escape, and what it means about his perspective on life. Though he says he's not trying to achieve an anthropological perspective, his queries go right to the heart of the ethnographic endeavor--how much of this life experience is determined by our culture and how much of this is simply what it means to be human? Honest, direct, and penetrating, Mestel takes us along on a safari of mind and body we won't soon forget.

This is a very enjoyable book about a journey on foot with pack-donkeys across a very harsh landscape in an area of Africa way off the beaten path. The goal is Lake Turkana, the world's largest permanent desert lake and the world's largest alkaline lake.The crew consists of the American narrator, a European woman, and three African guides, plus an assortment of random local people who tag along for a while, then drop off. Local youths are occasionally hired to stand guard at night, as the local tribes conduct sometimes deadly raids upon each other.The narrator interacts with and observes local people, offering his insights, experiences, and musings, as negotiations and bartering take place for such valuable commodities as donkeys and water.Anyone who has planned an expedition will laugh out loud reading how Africa can happen to the best-laid plans.

If you are fascinated by travel stories that go outside the tourist box, this book will fascinate you.If you like stories of real life adventure where sheer grit and determination is the only way to survive, this is for you.Mike tells his story of his first excursion through the barren desert of Africa where he lived the nomadic lifestyle for a few weeks. A fun and easy read of Mickey's personal reflections and experiences while on a 1996 accelerated trek through what appears to be a harsh, unforgiving yet beautiful part of Africa that has remained largely untouched by modern civilization. Especially loved the vivid descriptions of the people he met along the way, the interactions and conversations, and the villages he passed through and stayed in - made me laugh heartily and on occasion felt as though I too were on that trek. An enjoyable read for those who seek to discover and connect to something outside of the familiar.

This is an easy read about one man's experience of travelling through the remote areas of Africa to visit Lake Turkana. His observations and musings are interesting. However, i would have liked to know if this experienced had any influence on his life once he returned to America or was it just a unique but superficial interlude. If you like to armchair travel this is a worthwhile read.
