Don't expect to learn how to write RTL hardware descriptions from this book. Do expect to have a complete guide to using the Xilinx ISE development environment and several different Xilinx FPGA based boards. All firmware that you build and load into hardware is already written. The book is simply a guide to compiling and loading this firmware into FPGA devices. As such it is complete and accurate. Easy to read and understand.

This book has some good information about some Xilinx FPGAs, but it needs some serious editing. I have found several typos, the author is apparently confused assumptions about the reader so elementary terms he defines while other more advanced terms are assumed.There is some good information, it is just not well organized.I'd like the author to produce a revision with the help of a good editor and someone who the author considers the ideal reader to help better organize the information. I'd be glad to help.

Great book, though it doesnt cover newer fpga architectures like the Zynq or Vivado it does a great job of explaining how to get started and has some fun projects.Cons: hasn't been proofread completely and some of the concepts arent connected well. You may have to supplement with youtube to get the most out of it.

This book uses multiple boards for illustration, and does not go beyond the examples which come with the boards. I promptly return the book. If you want to learn Verilog, I would recommend "Advanced Chip Design, Practical Examples in Verilog" instead. Or even free articles like this one: [...]. For FPGA boards, this Xilinx board comes with necessary (English) docs: XC6SLX9 Starter Board,Xilinx Spartan 6 FPGA (find it on flea bay).

This book has a very straightforward goal, and it meets that goal well. "Make: FPGAs" does not attempt to turn you into an expert in using software and Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) to create special-function hardware. Instead, it presents "eight interesting FPGA projects that will help you develop some of the skills you will need to really begin exploring this exciting world of turning software into hardware through FPGA technology." David Romano, the author, shows several consumer-affordable ($29.95 to $200) FPGA development boards and then explains the design flow necessary to work with them effectively. The projects range from a simple frequency divider, to a Bitcoin miner, and a software-defined radio (SDR). The software for the projects, meanwhile, can be downloaded from GitHub. The book takes a clear, step-by-step approach to each project and offers many illustrations, screenshots and photographs.(My thanks to O'Reilly Media for providing a review copy.)

I didn't buy this book through Amazon, but if I had, I would be returning it for a refund.The first third of this book (84 pages) make perect sense, is helpful, and is easy to follow.Starting with page 85, and almost through the end of the book there is almost nothing being said that relates to anything said before, or is anything other than disjointed information that might have been pulled from some datasheet or tutorial somewhere.It's almost as if the author ran out of time to write pages 85 and beyond, and merely published his "cliff notes" for those parts. I really don't get it.You can't simply switch from a "hands on" teach ing style (pages 1-84), and then just forget that mid-book (pages 85-182 or so) and start presenting raw VHDL programming code for no reason, and without any introduction or explanation.Some parts of the book beyond page 183 are probaby usable on their own, but these are mostly regurgitating other people's FPGA projects, which you can find on their websites.I recommend you try another FPGA book, unless you can afford to pay for a 1/3-usable one.

This is a joke. This is clearly a scam product, and all of the positive reviews are clearly shills perpetrating this debacle. At least one of the positive reviews is a verbatim exerpt of the book. It's the one describing that there are many different variations of the sport of hockey, roller hockey, etc. Read it to get an idea of how big of a sham this crap is. DO NOT BUY.

Not much valuable info

Hockey Made Easy is a nice, thorough and informative book that can benefit hockey players of any age level although I think this book would be best suited toward players of a younger age group. It's a relatively short read which may be appealing for those in a younger age group but don't be fooled by it's medium-sized length - it's actually packed with a ton of information. I found that the part of the book that discussed goal-setting was the best part. Not only does it apply to hockey players but it can benefit those who play any sport or who don't play any sport at all. It's definitely worth a read!

I'm the new coach for my son's hockey team and I learned a lot from reading this book, the tips within it was exactly what I was searching for. I found the book well written and very useful. I also like the author's way of explaining things so everyone can understand. Great job!

I was asked to read this book and see if it was suitable for teen hockey players and I think it is a good book even for younger players. It discusses the equipment needed, exercises and workouts that work well to develop muscles a hockey player needs to have in top shape and stretches that keep everything limber in order to avoid injury during practice or a game. It also goes into good nutrition for a hockey player. I was afraid the chapter on mental techniques and toughness training may be a bit much for an adolescent, but it had great suggestions that will help the members of the team better players.Every chapter had valuable information for the hockey player. The chapter on equipment was great going into every piece of equipment and I especially appreciated the part about fitting skates, which is very important. I found the proper stretching techniques done before a game to be very informative having over 16 warm ups and even more that gets the entire body from top to bottom ready for a game and able to withstand the pressure of playing. The chapter on being a better player will benefit anyone that plays the game. It goes all the way from improving skills, to strength, tips on defense and how to analyze plays properly. Defensive and offensive tips are especially helpful. The top 5 hockey workouts include endurance, speed, skating, goalie and stickhandling and there are exercises for each one. The diet and nutrition section discusses carbs, proteins, fats and hydration. Some great suggestions for mental preparation are developing self-confidence, focus, composure, playing loose and calming anxiety. It also gives you suggestion for a pre-game ritual. The whole book is something any hockey player should read.

I learned a lot from this book about hockey, primarily about training drills. The review of useful equipment is fundamental and sound. I also liked the information on mental preparation.

Hockey is a fun and a competitive sport that I enjoy playing. There are several variants of hockey including roller hockey, field hockey and ice hockey which is the popular variant. Hockey aside from been a fun sport often provides many health and personal development benefits to its players. It’s great for improving coordination, agility, flexibility, physical strength and reflexes. The best part of the book is that it contains proven steps and strategies on how to become a better hockey player; who doesn’t want that? I have discovered how to select the best gear and equipment for optimal performance as well as how to properly stretch and warm up before a practice. Everything I needed to learn about hockey, I did find in this book which is also very simple and easy to understand. I look forward to going in the field and becoming a great player. Was I that lucky to have received #1 of 5000, or do they all say that?

I picked up this book not knowing any thing about street art going by just shear amount of pictures and size, I am quite happy I did the book contains a brief bio of the artist whose works have been included in chronological order from his first experiments with this form of art from screen prints, stickers to his favorite designing skate boards. In between it also show cases his work in other areas like posters, wall art and even in some body words graffiti. Over are all an excellent introduction not only to the artist but to this easy to follow modern art that every one can relate, enjoy.

When I think back to when I first read a thumbnail sketch of the first instalment of this tale, I remember thinking "here comes another cleasha rom-com. What a ground breaking suprise this story has been from the beginning right up through now! I feel humbled by my early low expectations. Keep up the high level you are still rising above, please!

This book really had me following with such a series of emotions ranging from depressed to pure elation and everything in between. This is yet another fine volume from this amazing author. Looking forward to the next volume!

Fun read. I continued to read hoping that somehow he would find a way to have everyone understand him. Many threads seems to be at play, looking forward to see what happens.

I've watched the anime years ago and the plot is sooo cliché i never had any high hopes for it, then later this year i came across these light novels and decided to give it a try.. now I've been hooked! This book gave me feels man! That scene with wiene! Any body who read this would know what I'm talking about, but dang! Got me all teary eyed and goosebumps all over! Its that good!

A great finish to the story arc. Didn't want it to end.

I wish bell had leveled up again, but he stays level 3 by the end. I bet Asterios will eventually save bell and his party in the deep levels.

My 4 year old son and I are HUGE Mo Willems fans. He can tell you all of the books we have by Willems (even makes me read his name with each reading), so I was very excited to add the Squirrels to our Gerald, Piggy, and Pigeon collection and pre-ordered this book in excitement. I saw some of the same techniques and humorous instances that Willems used in previous books, but this book was quite different. The storyline seemed very all over the place, not a lot of cohesion. It made me feel like a kid with ADHD must feel like when trying to watch a teacher quickly perform an algebraic equation on a projector screen while trying to keep up on their own paper. Even my 4 year old was like, "Wow! Wait! What? What just happened?" While we will continue to love and purchase Mo Willems' books, this one was not our favorite. Fun, but leaves you feeling a little anxious, scattered. I would more likely recommend the G&P and Pigeon books over this one.

I pre-ordered this book when I first heard about it several months ago. At the time, from the description I read, it sounded like it was going to be an Elephant-and-Piggie-type book, but for more advanced readers. It turns out it’s more like an Elephant-and-Piggie-type book that’s pretty much the same format (a couple word bubbles per page), just longer. In other words, I wouldn’t say it’s more complex, there’s just more of it. So while it wasn’t exactly what I was expecting, it’s not a bad thing at all. My first-grader is a pretty advanced reader, but he still loved this. I thought it was great, too. The squirrels are funny, the acorns are adorable, and I like that it has different yet related sections. It’s pretty hard to go wrong with Mo Willems, and I certainly hope there will be more Unlimited Squirrels books (hopefully soon!)

Before I start, remember to look out for the Pigeon, he has a great hiding place in this one!There is a big push right now for early childhood classroom libraries to contain a 50/50 split of fiction and nonfiction books, this fabulous Mo book allows you to kill two squirrels with one acorn.First of all it gives a table of contents, great for learning/teaching book features. Then it gives the reader a heads up to look out for the “emote-acorns” which will aid with comprehension along the way.The first 59 pages are what you would expect from a Mo easy reader, like Elephant and Piggie, the only big difference being the emote-acorns. Lots of laughs and an engaging story.Each section of the book is separated by acorn-y jokes, which act as fun little breakups between sections.The second section has real facts about both human and squirrel teeth, this is where the nonfiction comes into play. After another acorn-y joke Quiz Squirrel hosts a game show that leads to more nonfiction facts about other animals’ teeth.So what you’re getting here is everything we’ve come to expect from Mo and then some. I would say the reading level for the main story is about the same as Elephant and Piggie but the nonfiction parts are a little more advanced, so it can still be used for the younger ages but has a higher ceiling. Highly recommend.

I just read this wonderfully funny and engaging book to my second graders. They LOVED it and so did I! There are so many teachable moments and reading strategies all packed into this one book. Sure, I had to show my thinking as a reader in parts so the students would understand, but that's what makes a book worth reading. I am recommending "I Lost My Tooth!" to every teacher and parent I know. Thank you, Mo Willems!

As a first grade teacher I was thrilled a new Mo Willems' book was available. My students love his Piggie and Gerald & Pigeon series so much! (I enjoy them too.) I eagerly preordered this bookThe title was appealing because so many of the little ones are excited by the first wiggle of their loose tooth up to it finally coming out. I was hoping there would be a better explanation of how and why teeth fall out, however, my students had more questions than answers after hearing this story.Also, the characters are not easily distinguishable. So it's hard to follow the main character's plight.I am often asked to reread books. None of my students have asked to hear I Lost My Tooth since it first being read or picked it up to read independently.

Mo Willems is kind of the best. In this new book (I think it's going to be a series eventually?) he combines a story and some jokes and fun with some non-fiction. It's great, my kids really enjoy this book and we are happy to add it to our library.

We have the entire elephant and piggie set, and were excited to get the new books like Shoe Time and the Itchy Book. They were ok, but Mo Williams is the real star. His books are waaaay better than the author's he recommends. My 6 year old and 4 year old read this book about 15 times each! It has some nice facts about teeth in addition to a cute story about a few squirrels that lost a tooth.

We have been collecting books by Mo Willems for a few years now. He has a great talent for holding their interest with his stories.Our grandkids are now 6 and 8 so are also able to read them on their own. Entertaining for grandma & parents too!

The second installment of Steadfast was as good as the first. I like getting to know Eric Radner better and finding out how he would fit into the horror of survival. It's amazing a former blogger would become God's John the Baptist in this story.The advancement of the enemy army draws closer and danger gets nearer and nearer. It's a good, quick read. Once more there are surprises and twists and turns. I like the faith message woven into the book as well.

If you are pretrib, midtrib, post trib or unsure we can all agree that the speed of the increase of the persecution of Christians has left many believers stunned. The Steadfast Series has given us yet another view that is already being lived out in other spots around the world. Can it be far off here. Steadfast is a compelling read that will go by far to quickly.

As I read these stories, even though the characters are fictitious, it makes me realize that I must step out in faith that God will use me if I get out of His way. May God bless all who read this story to live for Him and have a closer relationship with Him.

Jesus is the only way to inner peace. He alone is the answer. So refreshing to read a story that reflects the truths found in scripture. This is good reading to suggest to non Christians who may be close.

I am looking forward to the next book, because this is a very entertaining series. I highly recommend these novels.

I just have read the first two in the Steadfast Series. Now hope book 3 is out SOON! I've read all of David's books and enjoyed them all. I like the suspense and mystery without all of what goes on in other novels. Keep them coming, David.

I really enjoyed these short, easy to read books by Mr. Telbat. The only real issue, was the fact that the story was so good, I finished reading the book way before I wanted it to end. Thank you for this interesting mini-series.

I like that this follows the sequence of the Bible and reinforces Bible stories as well as applying it to our own life. I'm using it with my almost 6 year old and although the devotions are pretty simple and not all that"exciting" she enjoys the undivided attention. It's helped us to talk about issues we wouldn't normally discuss.

I bought this for my very active 3 year old son, wanting to start him out in a small act of worship daily. This is perfect for that, as the devotionals are short and to the point. They are all age appropriate and introduce Biblical ideas quickly and efficiently, building on each day's lesson. I do feel my son is learning the basics and a little more each day.

We read this every night as a daily devotional to my 4 year old Son. He is excited about reading it every night. It is a very age appropriate devotion.

It’s been great, and simple for my 4, and 6 year old to understand

I love this devotional. We use it with our kids and the lessons are short enough to deliver a simple lesson that they retain.
